Fear for life

In your life, these are all feelings you must learn to deal with. Every person eventually handles them differently. Everyone has ways to emotionally regulate themselves when it all becomes too much. Some of these ways may be healthier than others. Others may seem harmless at first glance, but can cause more harm in the long run than you might like.

I choose escapism myself. I try to escape my responsibilities, I try to escape my friends, I try to escape everything that is fixed. I try to make myself disappear. I turn into an invisible person. Like everyone else, I do my shopping, I exercise, I go hiking, but for others, I no longer exist. I walk through life like a ghost, without being attached to anything or anyone. I find my peace in non-existence. Until loneliness begins to gnaw and pent-up feelings resurface.

This is where this photography series begins. The moment I have completely disappeared. Disappearing is the easy part. But how do you become a person again, when you have left all your feelings behind? How do you become a friend again, when you have just been gone for months? What it take for a ghost become human again?
